▶ Causes of muscle pain
When muscles are exhausted or damaged due to excessive use of muscles, the muscles do not receive enough oxygen for metabolism, so cells cannot breathe using oxygen, and as a by-product, an acidic substance called lactic acid is produced.  When this lactic acid builds up in the muscles, it causes pain.
